San Francisco, California

Organisms act as radiators and antennas of electromagnetic bioinformation, which has been ignored under the present scientific paradigm. From the frontiers of medicine, however, new subtle energy devices are emerging that can relieve pain, improve one's mood, accelerate healing, and promote sleep, among other benefits. Besides externally applied artificial fields, there are also natural fields. Humans and other organisms emit very low level light called biophotons that may transmit biologically important information. In addition, basic science research in this area may provide insight into how certain alternative medical modalities such as acupuncture, homeopathy, and healer interventions, work.

Beverly Rubik, Ph.D., biophysicist, is a leading scientist exploring the frontiers of science, medicine, and spirit. Founder and president of the Institute for Frontier Science in Oakland, her main focus is paradigm-breaking research and education on subtle energies and energy medicine. She served for several years on the Program Advisory Council of the NIH Office of Alternative Medicine. Author of the book, Life at the Edge of Science and over 45 scientific papers, she serves on the editorial board of five journals including Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine. She was recently appointed Visiting Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Arizona's Program in Integrative Medicine under Dr. Andrew Weil. Dr. Rubik is also a consultant to a wide range of clientele.
